Plausibly, the regime's army seems to have simply collapsed under US onslaught, although the possibility of a deal in Baghdad to end the fighting is not pursued; and any stories of successful Iraqi resistance are not told in this report. The 'Last Days of Saddam's Iraq', ie the detailed story of the collapse of the regime from the point of view of the Iraqi command bunker, has not been told and I find the lack of curiosity about this odd.
